Group Classes

I teach four fun group classes (Puppy Class, Jr Puppy Classes, Minding our Manners, and Agility & Tricks) on weekday evenings at Airdrie Puppy Pals. The training area is indoors and climate-controlled, located in the southwest corner of Airdrie, Alberta.

Puppy Class

I teach an open enrollment, start whenever you can Puppy Class for dogs who are at least eight weeks to no older than 16 weeks of age. This is a foundation course where we focus on building obedience skills like name recognition, sit, stay and also resiliency and solicitation skills to help set our puppies up for success as the grow into confident adult dogs. Every class is different and includes both on leash and off leash activities for dogs of all ages. I recommend attending at least four to six Puppy Classes while you dog is between the ages of 8 and 16 weeks.

Jr Puppy Class

From 16 weeks to 2 years, dogs are maturing through a “teenager” stage. To support this stage of canine development, I offer a start at any time learn and play Jr Puppy Class at Airdrie Puppy Pals. During class, we will practice basic obedience and agility skills, such as leash manners and paying attention around others, while giving our dogs the opportunity to run and play off-leash in a supervised indoor setting. For this class all dogs must have their Rabies vaccination and dogs over 8 months of age must be spayed or neutered. If your dog is a little unsure of other dogs and humans, that’s okay. If you’re not sure if this learn and off-leash play environment is the best opportunity for your dog, I would recommend scheduling a complimentary discovery call before registering for this class.

Minding Our Manners

Minding our Manners is my five-week beginning to intermediate level obedience course. With a set course start and end date, each class build gradually on the other as together in a group of four to six other families we will learn how to communicate with our dogs to help them stop jumping up on visitors, walk nicely on a loose leash, come back when we call them and much more. The only prerequites for this course is that participating dogs have up-to-date Rabies vaccinations. Since there is no off-leash playtime, dogs do not have to be spayed or neutered.

Agility & Tricks

For those looking for some fun or a bit of a challenge, I teach an intermediate “Agility & Tricks” course. During our five sequential weeks together, we will learn more about shaping behaviors and fading hand and food lures to teach our dogs fun tricks like orbit, leave weaves, back up, and much more. For this course all dogs should have a good understanding of basic obedience skills like focus sit, stay and laydown in a group setting like an indoor training classroom. All participating dogs must have their Rabies vaccination and since there is no off leash playtime in this course dogs to not need to be be spayed or neutered.
